As a child

As a child

I went to the beach,

and I learned

what only sand

could teach;

And what tides

do tell,

about the wind

and the salty smell;

And the rush

of the deep blue sea,

and how it lives in

every part

of me;

As a child

I climbed the

mountain's peak,

and whispered

as the mountains

speak;

And what winds

do moan,

caressing every rock

and stone;

And the rush

of the deep blue sky,

and how it swirls

within us;

you and I
